Southern States Chemical wins 2011 PlantWeb Excellence Award!
On October 27th at the 2011 Emerson Global Users Exchange in Nashville, TN, Southern States Chemical was awarded the prestigious PlantWeb Excellence Award for its use of Emerson’s CHARacterization Modules (CHARMs) at the Wilbara Plant in Wilmington, NC. The award was presented to Bryan Beyer, Acid Operations Manager, for his presentation “DeltaV Electronic Marshalling Delivers Engineering Cost and Scheduling Savings for Greenfield Chemical Plant.” Congratulations to everyone at SSC and a special thanks to those who contributed to this project.

August 19th marked 2 years of the highest level of safety for Southern States Chemical. 2 years without a lost time accident or injury!
The Wilmington Plant is going on 5 years without a lost time accident or injury! That’s what we call safety excellence!
Southern States Chemical wins CSX 2000 Chemical Safety Excellence Award!
SSC is the proud recipient of the 2000 Chemical Safety Excellence Award given out annually by CSX. Each year CSX recognizes those chemical shippers who have demonstrated excellence in the preparation and shipment of chemicals by rail.
This year 64 chemical shippers received this prestigious Chemical Safety Excellence Award is recognized among chemical shippers as a true measure of a company’s transportation safety commitment.
Larry Davis, CSX’s Director of Chemicals Marketing states, “There is great value to a company, the public and the environment when our customers demonstrate this level of excellence and good stewardship. The winners are truly “best in class”.
