Southern States Chemical, Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of Sulfuric acid based in Savannah, GA, has acquired Koch’s Wilmington, N.C. Sulfuric Acid facility. Southern States Chemical now operates four sulfur burning sulfuric acid plants and two 15,000 ton import tanks on the east coast. The added flexibility that is achieved through multiple production and shipping outlets allows the company to offer a preeminent level of support and security of supply to its customers.

“It is our goal to operate the Wilmington facility much as we have the Savannah operation, providing the marketplace with an unsurpassed level of consistency and reliability of product quality and service”, says Key Compton, President of Southern States Chemical.

Dulany Industries, Inc., SSC’s parent company, also has ties to the warehousing business as well as the professional fertilizer industry. It’s other subsidiaries based out of the Savannah location are: Evergreen Fertilizer, Inc. – manufacturer of fertilizers for specialty markets, and SeaGate Handling, Inc. – operator of bulk warehouse facilities located on the Savannah river.
